You'll also find it is far sturdier than anything else on the market! It is made from 4140 steel, has been pre-heat treated, and annealed. This is a high-quality tool and you will be pleased with your purchase.
This new tool design comes with two feet; one for removing/installing followers and one for removing/installing the springs. Freedom Racing is the very first to offer this!
Using a socket and ratchet, this tool makes it easier and faster to compress the spring and is newly revised with the ability to lock it in place, improving the removal and installation process. The pointed set screw on the top of the tool helps hold it in place.
Since the exhaust valve seems to need the foot lower than the intake valve, the foot is adjustable so you can raise or lower it. The hex you see near the top turns the triangle part which is done quickly with a ratchet.
This tool is needed even for a simple cam swap, even if you're not changing springs. It is manufactured to prevent your valves from dropping into the cylinders.

I'm excited to see etoolcart carrying the freedom racing tools. When I was looking for them for my cam swap a couple months ago they didn't have them. I was changing springs too and the otc tool just couldn't do it. I fought with it forever until somebody told me about the freedom racing compressor and wedge. They worked so much better than what I was originally trying to use. Service was pretty great too! Thumbs up!!
