Very nice little system. My son's car, 1997 Saturn SL-2 had a check engine light. I borrowed an Actron unit from a friend. It read 2 codes, the AL309 read the same exact 2 codes. I also have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata and 2004 Ford Expedition, the AL309 seems to be reading live data from both (niether vehicle has any codes). The good news is that it reads codes out in plain english (no need to look up codes). This is perfect for do-it yourselfer, especially if you live in CA and need to erase old codes prioor to smog test. Web site and CD are friendly and I easily updated software. The only negative is the short cable, it works fine but could be longer if you needed to read under the hood. Hope this helps, I was looking for a review like this when I purchased and could not find one. I think this is an outstanding value. I give it a thumbs up!
