Applications: QUAD 4 J, L, N, 2.3 L and 2.4L 4 Cylinder engines found in 1996-1998 Buick Skylark, 1996-2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, 1996-1998 Olds Achieva, 1999-2001 Olds Alero, 1996-2001 Pontiac Grand Am, 1996-2002 Pontiac Sunfire

The 1992 Quad 4 engines have a new designed cam gear which requires the J 39579 for servicing of the gear. It is used with a 1/2" square drive and fits into the four access holes of the gear to prevent damage to the gear teeth.
