EN-52490-74 74 mm Piston Installer Tool

EN-52490-74 is a tapered cone-style piston ring compressor, used to evenly compress the piston rings to allow installing the piston into the cylinder. EN-52490-74 fits the 74 mm pistons in SGE family engines. To install the piston, the connecting rod is passed through EN-52490-74 until the rings begin to compress. The assembly is then placed into the correct cylinder, and the piston pushed into position to install the connecting rod cap around the crankshaft journal. Unapproved installation methods may damage the rings or scrape the piston.

EN-52490-74 also applies to CSS Prime 1.4L-T I-3 engines (RPOs L4F and L4G).
